RATIONALE
Benchmarking is a process of comparing the your organization / business and what another organization does. The main purpose of benchmarking is for making changes and part of process and management improvements. Benchmarking is also referred to "best practice” in management process particularly strategic management in which organizations evaluate various aspects of their processes in relation to best practice within their own sector or other sectors. Benchmarking allows organizations to develop plans on how to make improvements or adopt best practice, usually with the aim of increasing some aspect of performance. Benchmarking is a continuous process in which organizations continually seek to challenge their practices.

Benchmark organization / company against another companies and to assess how your organization compares to others.
Initiate quality management in your benchmarking process to ensure the success of benchmarking.
Master various methods of performance measurement in the benchmarking process.
